No matter how you choose to tweak it, this delicious recipe will help you make the perfect chocolate chunk cookie every time.

Ingredients

2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted and cooled

1 cup lightly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chunks

1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

3. In a large bowl, cream together the melted butter and both sugars until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the vanilla extract.

4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chunks and walnuts, if using.

5. Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until lightly golden around the edges. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
