Ingredients
For the pastry: - 2 sheets of puff pastry dough - 2 tablespoons of butter, melted - 3 tablespoons of light brown sugar - 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder For the chocolate filling: - 1/2 cup of heavy cream - 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar - 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder - 1/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. 2. Unroll the puff pastry sheets onto a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into 9 equal-sized rectangles and place them onto the prepared baking sheet. 3. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, light brown sugar, and cocoa powder. Mix until well combined and then brush the mixture onto the puff pastry rectangles. 4. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden-brown and puffy. 5. While the puff pastry is baking, prepare the chocolate filling. In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, granulated sugar, and cocoa powder. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture comes to a gentle boil. 6. Reduce the heat to low and add the chocolate chips. Stir until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth. 7. Once the puff pastry is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes. 8. Place one tablespoon of the chocolate filling onto each puff pastry rectangle. Spread it evenly, leaving a 1/2-inch border all the way around. 9. Carefully roll up each pastry from the short end, like a cigar. Place them seam-side down onto the baking sheet. 10. Bake for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the pastry is golden-brown and the chocolate is hot and oozing. 11. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
