Ingredients

For the cake:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

3/4 cup cocoa powder
3/4 cup vegetable oil

1 cup coffee, brewed and cooled
2 large eggs

For the frosting :
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon coffee, brewed and cooled
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup heavy cream

For the topping :
2 tablespoons coffee powder
2 tablespoons chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, oil, vanilla extract, and coffee.
4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, and mix until just combined.
5. Add the eggs, and mix until just combined.
6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, and bake for 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, before transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely.

8. To make the frosting, beat the butter with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
9. Add the confectioners' sugar, cocoa powder, coffee, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.
10. Slowly add the heavy cream and beat until light and fluffy.
11. Frost the cooled cake with the frosting.

12. To make the topping, sprinkle the coffee powder and chocolate chips over the top of the cake.
