- 2 lbs Munich Malt
- 1 lb Crystal 55L Malt
- 1 lb Chocolate Malt
- 1 lb Roasted Barley
- 1 lb Flaked Oats
- 1 oz Fuggles Hops
- 1/2 lb Lactose
- 1/2 oz Coffee Beans, freshly ground
- 1/2 oz Cocoa Nibs
- 1 packet of Dry Ale Yeast
Instructions
This chocolate coffee porter all grain recipe is best brewed with a mash tun and a wort chiller. Begin by milling the malts and adding them to the mash tun. Heat the mash to 150-155 Fahrenheit and hold for 60 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
At the end of the mash, sparge the grains with 170-175 Fahrenheit water until the total volume of the wort is 6-7 gallons. Boil the wort for 60 minutes, adding the Fuggles hops at the beginning of the boil. Add the lactose, ground coffee, and cocoa nibs with 15 minutes left in the boil.
Once the boil is finished, chill the wort to 65-70 Fahrenheit and add the yeast. Transfer the wort to a fermenter and ferment at 68-70 Fahrenheit for 10-14 days.
