Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 teaspoons almond extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped almonds (optional)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla and almond extracts.

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips and almonds (if using).

Drop dough by rounded tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
