Ingredients

-1/2 cup of granulated sugar

-1/4 cup of light corn syrup

-2 tablespoons of butter

-1/4 teaspoon of baking soda

-1/4 cup of dried fruit (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or non-stick cooking spray.

3. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil. Continue to cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.

4. Remove from heat and stir in the baking soda. Pour into the prepared pan and spread evenly.

5. Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool completely in the pan.

6. Once cooled, break into small pieces or cut into desired shapes.

7. Place the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 1 minute. Stir and microwave for an additional 30 seconds. Stir until melted and smooth.
