Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F and line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing until combined. Add the vanilla extract and mix. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Divide the batter into the muffin tins and bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean. Let cool in the tin, then carefully remove to a wire rack and let cool completely. Enjoy!
