Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet with butter and set aside.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

In the bowl of a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated. Add in the vanilla extract and mix until combined. Slowly add in the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Fold in the dark chocolate chips. Divide the dough into two equal parts and shape each part into a log. Place the logs on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the logs to cool for 10 minutes.

Using a serrated knife, cut the logs into 1/2-inch slices. Place the slices back on the baking sheet and bake for an additional 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.

Notes
