Making these roses is surprisingly simple and requires only a few ingredients. This recipe calls for bacon, chocolate chips, and some toothpicks, but you can also use other toppings or ingredients to mix things up. No matter what you choose, these roses are sure to be a hit!
Ingredients
- 8-10 strips of bacon
- 2 cups of chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- 1 bag of toothpicks
- Optional: Sprinkles, nuts, or other toppings
Equipment
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- Knife
- Double boiler or microwave-safe bowl
- Spatula
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Cut the bacon strips in half. Arrange the bacon pieces on the parchment paper in a circular shape, overlapping the pieces slightly to form a rose shape. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and golden brown.
3. While the bacon is baking, melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler or in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir in the vegetable oil until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
4. When the bacon is done baking, let it cool for a few minutes. Once cooled, dip each piece of bacon in the melted chocolate. Place the dipped bacon pieces on parchment paper and let them cool for about 10 minutes.
5. To assemble the roses, use a toothpick to attach the bacon pieces together. Place the completed roses on a plate or tray and let them cool in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
6. Once cooled, top the roses with sprinkles, nuts, or other toppings, if desired. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- You can also use pre-cooked bacon strips to make this recipe even easier.
- If you’re having trouble getting the bacon to stick together, use a little extra melted chocolate to help hold it in place.
- These roses can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
