Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

3/4 cup heavy cream

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the butter and use a pastry blender to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the chocolate chips. In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract. Add this mixture to the flour mixture and stir until the dough comes together. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently until it forms a ball. Flatten the ball with your hands and then use a rolling pin to roll out the dough into an 8-inch circle. Cut the circle into 8 wedges, transfer the wedges to the prepared baking sheet, and bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
