Description

This delicious tray bake recipe is perfect for the whole family. It is super easy to make and the result is a delicious chocolatey treat – the perfect combination of crunchy digestive biscuits and creamy chocolate. Enjoy it as a snack or dessert – you won’t be disappointed!

Ingredient

4 packets of chocolate digestives, 1 bag of marshmallows, 1 tub of double cream, 2 bars of baking chocolate, and 1 bag of mini chocolate chips.

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Place one packet of digestives in the tray and spread them out evenly. Top with a layer of marshmallows. Place the second packet of digestives on top of the marshmallows and spread them out evenly. Heat the double cream, baking chocolate, and mini chocolate chips in a saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally until the mixture is smooth and all the chocolate has melted. Pour the chocolate mixture over the digestives, spreading it out evenly. Finish off the tray bake by topping with the remaining two packets of digestives. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Allow to cool before cutting into slices and serving.

Equipment

You will need a baking tray, parchment paper, a saucepan, and a wooden spoon.

Notes

If you want to add a little extra crunch, you can sprinkle some crushed nuts over the top before baking. For a more intense chocolate flavour, you can add more baking chocolate and mini chocolate chips to the double cream mixture.

Nutrition

This tray bake is high in sugar and fat, so it should not be consumed in large quantities. However, it is a great occasional treat and a delicious way to satisfy a sweet tooth!
