Not only are they a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth, but they’re also a great way to impress your guests at parties and gatherings. Serve these truffles with a glass of milk or a cup of hot cocoa for a truly decadent treat.

Ingredients

For the truffles:

  • 1/2 cup coconut flakes
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
For the coating:
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup toasted coconut flakes

Instructions

1. In a small bowl, combine the coconut flakes, chocolate chips, cream, butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until everything is well combined. 2. Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls. Place the truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. 3. In a small saucepan, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil over low heat, stirring constantly. 4. Dip the truffles in the melted chocolate and then roll them in the toasted coconut flakes. Place the truffles back on the parchment-lined baking sheet. 5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Equipment

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Small bowl
  • Parchment paper
  • Baking sheet
  • Small saucepan
  • Spoon

Notes

When making the truffles, be sure to shape them into small balls so that they don’t become too big after coating them in chocolate and coconut flakes. If you find the mixture is too soft to shape into balls, you can add more coconut flakes or refrigerate the mixture for a few minutes before shaping into balls. You can also substitute dark chocolate chips for the semi-sweet chocolate chips if desired.
