Ingredients:

For the Donuts:

-3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

-2 tablespoons baking powder

-1 teaspoon salt

-3/4 cup granulated sugar

-2 large eggs

-1/2 cup whole milk

-1/4 cup butter, melted

-2 teaspoons vanilla extract

-Oil for frying



For the Chocolate Cream Filling:

-1/2 cup butter, softened

-1/2 cup confectioners' sugar

-1/3 cup cocoa powder

-2 teaspoons vanilla extract

-1/4 teaspoon salt



For the Chocolate Glaze:

-1/4 cup butter

-1/3 cup cocoa powder

-2 cups confectioners' sugar

-2-3 tablespoons hot water

-1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Equipment:

-Large bowl

-Whisk

-Rolling pin

-Donut cutter

-Deep fryer

-Paper towels

-Large saucepan

-Mixing bowl

-Spatula

-Cookie sheet

-Wire rack

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Whisk until combined. Set aside.



2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms.



3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead a few times. Roll out the dough to a 1/4-inch thickness. Use a donut cutter to cut out donuts. Place the donuts on a lightly floured cookie sheet and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Let the donuts rest for 10 minutes.



4. Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Carefully lower the donuts into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.



5. To make the chocolate cream filling, beat the butter and confectioners' sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the cocoa powder, vanilla and salt, and beat until combined. Place the filling in a pastry bag fitted with a small round tip.

-Be sure to not overfill the donuts with the cream filling, as it will cause the donuts to burst open when frying.

-For a sweeter glaze, add more confectioners' sugar to taste.

-Store any leftover donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
